Pointing to the Moon
We should seek and through the act of seeking find. Are you advocating for a particular brand of seeking and finding?
Krishnamurti might give this response to the question: “Truth is a pathless land. Man cannot come to it through any organization, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, nor through any philosophic knowledge or psychological technique. He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection.” There is a Buddhist story which mirrors Krishnamurti sentiment called “Buddha pointing to the moon.” It illustrates that teachings, words, teachers are like a finger pointing to the moon. The teachings guide you to the truth, but not to the truth itself. The analogy warns us not to get caught up in the “finger” so that you miss the “moon” (enlightenment or ultimate reality).

It's interesting how you put this, really makes me think about how even in AI, the models are just pointers, neve the truth itself, you know?
